  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Nice, welcome. Today audiophiles can take vantage over inexpensive powerful Class D amps and recently with Lii Audio, take vantage over inexpensive full range drivers, this will save you a lot of money.

Welcome!

First, find a decent room (not tiny or squarish, well insulated, and hopefully dedicated to listening).

Second, look for active monitors that fit your room and budget.  Active monitors use low powered/sophisticated crossovers and one channel of amplification per driver).  Good active monitors start around $300/pair.

Third, use internet streaming CD quality service for access to millions of albums.

Just follow a couple good forums and listen to several systems (local dealers & friends) as you can before buying equipment. Your room matters more than you know. You don't have to spend big bucks to get good sound, consider well maintained used equipment.
