Many of you know that I am extremely happy with the performance of my McCormack DNA-500 amp (will write a review sometime in the future), well I am happy to say that Steve McCormack is not only a great amp designer, but it also a person who interacts with his customers (and potential customers).

There was a thread over on Audio Asylum about one of Steve's modified amps and not only did Steve answer the questions that were posed, he went a step further by personally contacting me via e-mail.  In the e-mail Steve suggested calling him to continue the discussion.  I called Steve and we discussed various topics for 20 minutes or so.

He was easy to talk to and gave very good information which allows me to make an informed decision on his products and services.

Anyway, I always like to write something like this vs. trashing a company that isn't properly supporting or interacting with their customer base.

Great products and great customer service - always a winning combination.

Steve seems to be a real approachable guy.  His comments on AA were nicely detailed and quite honest.  The DNA-500 sounds like a perfect companion to my RM/X's?  But.... if I have only single-ended (aka rca) connections, will the balanced input circuit capability of the 500 be unused/irrelevant?

Zybar,

You are absolutely right. Steve is a GREAT guy!  8)

He also designs GREAT gear! Having the chance to do some listening together w/ him at his home and at mine, I understand his preferences and design goals. I would not hesitate to buy McCormack gear in the future. In fact, the DNA-500 is an amp that I've LOVE to own as well.  8)

Rod,

The DNA-500 has a retail US price of $7000.00

It is worth every penny IMHO.
