We have done a few Benchmark DAC-1's now with the Op-amp replacement.  After break-in, it actually edges-out our reference P-3A when using the balanced outputs, at least in our system, which performs better balanced.

We are now also offering a SuperTurboclock3 upgrade to the Benchmark DAC-1.

In single ended mode using your I2s Off Ramp from my PC the Benchmark DAC-1 is better than your modded P3a as well.

It seems cleaner, not in a sterile way, my toes were tapping...the front to back layering of the music was better as well.

This is another awesome piece, and it's not even broken in yet!!

I'd have to agree.  I tried the DAC-1 from both balanced and SE outputs recently and it is really good from both using the I2S interface, better than any other DAC I have modded or heard.  I have some pretty spendy DAC's here too, including the Cryo-treated Dodson 218.
