Anyone ever try and integrate any external dynamic processors into their audio chain?
I am looking into integrating Peavey Cosmos subharmonic units into my VMPS theatre/audio setup. I was going to filter everything thru these and then filter the subwoofer bands out to the subs. The unit will add additional subfrequencies 2 & 3 octaves below the source.
I have a recording studio at home and am a musician on the side, so I have experience with pro audio gear. I just don't know if it's recommended to start messing around with it in my HT/Audio setup.
Sounds like a good idea. I've also been wanting to add a optical compressor on my center channel for smoother, more even dialogue. The VCA units (have an old dbx) are way too harsh.
Any comments, etc?
