The B16 is a cable design that uses 16 wires braided around a 1/2″ cotton core rope. Each hot and cold conductor uses 8 strands, which are twisted together, equivalent to a 10-gauge cable.
A 14-gauge stranded wire is nested inside of the rope.
The braided geometry helps to reject & filter out RMI & EMI noise without the higher capacitance created by typical shielding techniques.
