I've been an audiophool since the 60's when I built dynaco, hafler, and heathkit audio components. A dynaco st-120, pat-4 preamp, heathkit tuner. Speakers were Boston Acoustics A40s. Then bought a Pioneer RT-707 and still own and use two of those (and an RT-909 years later)!
Current system during the winter months is Transcendent Sound T8-LN OTL tube amp or Musical Fideltiy A1-2008 class A amp, Transcendent GG preamp, summer months A07 class D amp. Pretty damn amazing how good a $100 class D amp sounds these days!
Sources are Pioneer st-j75 tuner, SMSL SU-1 Dac, streamer is Jriver on windows 10 pc, or RPI 4.
Speakers are Ref3A DeCapo I or ELAC DBR-2 Reference.
