Hey Now - New member!
« on: 7 Apr 2023, 05:47 pm »
Hi I’m new here.

I have some older pieces, Ps Audio Dac, and power wave. VMPS 626’s and Dedicated sub, various amps: Music Hall, NAD, and Nuforce.

I also have some B&W speakers and Monitor Silver Bookshelf speakers. Kind of an eclectic mix, I know.

I’m looking to add a turn table and a cassette deck. If anyone has any pointers to such let me know.

Welcome to AudioCircle jklokk.

Turntable and Cassette deck, like it. Turntable will be easy, but the Cassette Deck will not be easy. Are you looking to buy new or vintage cassette deck, both have pros and cons.

Biasing on cassette decks are machine (not just brand or model) specific, so tapes even on top of the line machines don't transfer well from machine to machine.

My unsolicited advice are forget cassete decks, the sound are awful, lots of hiss, tape time life are small, instead go for open reel decks where at least you will have a better sound until the tape worn. IMO.
