PAC Idos Power Strip (3) Excellent Condition
« on: 10 Feb 2023, 11:18 pm »
Selling these for a deceased audiophile friend's widow.  3 available.  I have tested each, everything works fine.  Cosmetic condition is very good as well, no issues, please see pics.  One has an upgraded plug, other two are factory stock.  Oldies but goodies, excellent quality outlet strip with selective grounding.

These sold new for $169 each back in the day.  Asking $80 each, plus $17 shipping USPS Priority.  Pay via Paypal (add their fee unless paid as 'gift/friend')

PAC (Perfectionist Audio Co.) IDOS power strip. Has (3) normal outlets, (1) isolated outlet for digital sources. Keeps digital device from transferring AC pollution to the other outlets. Very effective inexpensive tweak.

The IDOS is a handy little device, and much more than a simple 'power bar'. The IDOS is built by Perfectionist Audio Components Inc. in Malvern, New York. It is a well-built component, featuring a metal body and quality outlets and wiring. IDOS is an acronym for Isolated Digital Outlet Strip, an AC outlet strip that isolates digital devices from analog devices. There is one 'Digital' AC outlet (that can be used for multiple digital components by using a simple outlet splitter or extension cord) and four outlets for analog devices.

The patented circuitry in the PAC IDOS does more than just separate digital from analog. It actually 'sends' digital noise to ground, so it must be connected to a correctly-grounded 3-prong outlet to operate correctly. A simple circuit tester can verify your home wiring. In laboratory tests, the RF field inside a state of the art Digital/Analog Converter was reduced over 50%. This reduction in RF energy means less radiated fields can intrude on associated components through interconnect cables or component placement.

The analog section of the IDOS circuitry is tuned to block the digital noise that is "dumped" to ground from the components plugged into the analog outlets of the IDOS. All components in the system must be plugged into an IDOS, however digital devices that are plugged into the 'Digital' outlet of the IDOS are not required to have three prong plugs. The IDOS is not current-limiting like most power-conditioners.
