Have a used Marantz SR 9300 that, even with the manual and remote is giving me frustrations in trying to set up! I also have bought a lot of used, vintage equipment and can't seem to get it all to work together with the Marantz. It took me two days to finally get the speakers to play the TV! I will be, when I am permitted, putting some of the large batch of hi-fi stuff up for sale. I am currently hooked up to Infinity speakers and they sound great, but I also have KEF reference 7 that I will be selling because they are way too heavy for me to move around.

Welcome! And don’t hesitate to ask questions!! These are some of the kindest and most knowledgeable people I have found in audio. Always quick to help.
A/V receivers can be very complicated, and their manuals are not often written in a very user friendly format.

  • Too loud is just right
The best receivers have pretty good amp and preamps sections, but they're very noisy.  Use shorting plugs on all unused inputs.  DO NOT USE ON OUTPUTS!  Don't spend any money on this, buy a bag of those .05 cent rca plugs and solder the + & - leads together.  The improvement is not subtle.
