Hello from Toronto
« on: 30 Nov 2022, 03:17 am »
Hi Everyone,

I've been in the hobby for 40+ years starting out with a Sony Walkman cassette player (hey that counts right??) back in the day!

Currently i'm running:

Naim Uniti Atom / Technics SL1200 mkII turntable / Roon Nucleus+
Bryston SP1.7 pre/pro
McCormack DNA HT3 power amp
Magnepan LRS
Rel T5x subwoofer

It's a fairly low cost setup taking advantage of older solid state equipment (Bryston/McCormack) that are lower cost and the Magnepan/REL combo which is also a very formidable but low cost duo.

The most expensive piece is the Naim Uniti Atom which I love using with Roon for the album art and instant performance over my wired network.

Comments or questions most welcome! :)

Welcome! I owned one of those cassette players back in the day and still have it in a bin in the garage.

Thank you and nice to meet a fellow Ontarian.

I used to live in Ajax so I know the area.  Which tube pre do you recommend?

Hello from just down the QEW.

And I will see your Sony walkman, and reference my own 1985 joy - the SPORTS version... I was oh so proud of those yellow headphones.

Later owned a Sony discman in the mid 90's too.
