Hello,
I’ve been into audio music and gear since I was a teenager and I’m now in my 80s. I accidentally stumbled into a 3LP Caruso album as my first LP and without the money to buy another for some time, I listened to Caruso sing over and over on my crappy little portable Webcor Turntable which I was thrilled to own at the time. I became an opera lover. I soon joined the Columbia Record Club to get all those free LPs and expanded my interests to Classical. And that’s pretty much where I am still. Though I sprinkle in some jazz, some country, some Zarzuela, some New Age, some Ethnic. Just don’t send me any rock and roll.
I’ve been through quite a lot of gear over the years, but I’m pretty much settled in my main stereo system with Quad ESL-63 electrostatic speakers and Audiomat Prelude Reference MKII integrated tube amp, along with Triode CD PLAYER, Rega RP40 Anniversary Turntable and Audio Note Zero/II Phono Stage. I do Roon via Roon Nucleus, Audio Alchemy DMP-1, Berkeley Audio DAC Reference Series 3. I still occasionally use my Nakamichi DR-1 Tape Cassette Player.
My TV System sports an almost new 65” Sony Bravia TV with DISH DVR. I use Spendor FL-6 speakers, Audiomat Arpege integrated tube amp, Oppo UDP-205 DVD player, Roku Ultra. A Sony Elite CLD-99 Laser Disc Player and Panasonic DVD/VHS player are still in very occasional use.
Both desktop computers have nice external audio systems with Spendor S3/5 Speakers so I can play Roon throughout the house.
