New Serial Numbers and Date Code Format
« on: 3 Nov 2022, 10:16 pm »
I am the very happy new owner of a 14b3 and noticed that the serial number and date code format is different from my 4b3.  Can anyone share how it works!

Units made in Dwight use a 14 digit serial # that identifies the type of unit, the Year/Month it was made, and its sequence in production that month.

For example - 43120012208013 - the first 7 digits identify this as a BDA3, the next 4 digits (2208) tell us that it was made in August of 2022, and 013 tells us that it was the 13th BDA3 made in August.

This is definitely very different than Peterborough production serial #'s and date codes...

Good to know.  I ran across an amp that with that serial number scheme and questioned the authenticity of it.
