New member. Hello & question.
« on: 2 Nov 2022, 06:45 pm »
Just joined so this is my intro post.
I was hoping to search the forums for a problem I am having but I see that I need three approved posts before I can, so I'll ask here.

I have a pair of B&W 802 Series 3 speakers that have distortion in the low end. To help explain, on the opening of Dark Side of the Moon the heartbeat does not have a crisp thump but a fuzzy sounding thump. This is heard from all four woofers.
Failed drivers or crossovers?

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Also, have you switched output channels on the output of the amp to make sure the problem stays with the speakers?  Or on the preamp and source for that matter.
