Wow, I just keep reading great reviews on the cubed amps!

Question:  I see a switch on the back for selecting balanced/single ended input.  Can you have interconnects from two separate components, like a tuner and a dac (that both have volume controls) connected separately to each input and then just use the balanced/single ended switch to select which one you are using at the time?

I have a 3B Cubed. The Balanced connections go to my Krell Showcase Surround Processor and the Single ended connections are connected to my Luxman CL38Use tube preamp. I just use the switch depending on what preamp I'm using.works great.

:D those amps look really good. I could use a 3 or 4 myself. Not on the used market yet. I would bite if I could find one used.  Be the last amp one would need.  :D

@2bigears   Just read your comment regarding your interest in obtaining either a 3 or 4B cubed.  Viewed a listing for a 3B3 Pro on CAM a little while ago, if interested.

:D I found that ,  thanks. Not sure how the Pro unit differs ? Is it just a different case ?  I would go for a bigger 4 first as my speakers are hard drivers.  But the 3 just might be ok.  Is Bryston class B running or class A/B ,,,, I'm not up on the latest !   :D

I have one of our Bryston 4B3 amps hooked up this way and it works fine.

:D well next question is what besides watts would I be missing from a 3 cubed to a 4 ?  My speakers are somewhat Power pigs and isn't headroom a very good thing ?  The 3 will save $$ for sure. I'm an old fart not wanting to live under a bridge ,, at least for a little while ?   :D

Haven't heard the Cubed series.  The 3B is rated 300wpc into 8  ohms and 400wpc into 4 ohms.  The 4B is rated 300wpc into 8 ohms and 500wpc in 4 ohns.

Ever since I was a teen, I've always been a believer in having more power than needed.  Been dumped on over the years for this but many believe having higher power ISN'T all about volume.  With a high current amplifier, I find music at lower volume can be more detailed than a smaller amp.

I've questioned Bryston regarding the difference between the home vs. pro units and was told there is little difference between the two sonically.  The pro has two gain pots on the rear panel to adjust level controls.  Nice feature if one were bi amping or bi-wiring speakers I would think.  Could come in handy in setting up a HT system as well.  Either way, I think you would be quite happy with either.  You may prefer the look of one over the other.  Good luck!

3B power is 200 w/8 ohms & 300/4 ohms whereas the 4B is 300w and 500w.

And I too have experienced the benefits of using more power for lower volume listening. When I moved from a 4B to a 14B I was amazed at the detail retrieval or should I say detail conveyance I experienced when listening at lower volumes. It was an ah ha moment for me.
