These speakers are from around 2006 and were upgraded to "BE" level in early 2019 ($900 Cdn cost). BE level means a new beryllium tweeter, a woofer upgrade, the newest soft brass screws and wiring. This pair also have the upgraded binding posts and floor spikes.
The cabinets aren’t perfect, note a couple of marks and a repair which was done by 3A. But they still do look and sound amazing. Grading is subjective but the asking price reflects the flaws.. as far as age I wouldn't be concerned, the drivers are barely 3 years old.
90dB sensitivity - a very easy load that can be driven by most tube amps (300B SET works great, I've used a 45 as well!), this is a unique design having no crossover network - the mid/woofer runs full range, and the tweeter has a cap for protection. The result is a very coherent sound, especially with tube amplifiers. The Veena was the first design from the relaunched (Canadian) Reference 3A under Tash Goka, and won many awards while it was in production.
