Does the SST2 PCB upgrade make it a "true" SST2, or are there other differences between the two generations?

I don't think so. I had a look at threads on the Bryston Circle to try and find out, but came up empty.

I was finally able to reach Bryston on this. The SST2 board does not upgrade the amp performance, it only replaces the printed PCB with a functionally identical part. The more important point is that for whatever reason a faulty PCB was replaced with a new one by the mfgr, so it should have lots of healthy life in it.
