You don't see Lynn Olsen designed Ariels for sale that often. I purchased these several years ago locally from a friend in our audio club. He built 2 sets of these with Kevin Carter (kandkaudio). I was fortunate to buy these from him later and used them as my primary speakers with subs for 2-3 years. I've accumulated too many speakers so some need to go. These are built like a tank. Heavy and dense and secured to the stands with threaded inserts.
Cross-overs are in their own boxes and laid out fantastically. Parts have quality caps, Mills resistors and unobtainable North Creek inductors. Cardas copper binding posts on the speakers and cross-over boxes. The design is great for those that like to tweak. Especially if you want to tailor these to your room using REW. See photos.
Drivers are ScanSpeak and VIFA. Build quality is a 9. Paint job is piano black but needs touchups for the perfectionist. Cross-over boxes are unpainted. I removed the crossover box lids to show the insides. These sound great with subs and match well with tube amps.
