Save over a ton of money with no wait on what is essentially a new amp, and a great one that is already a bargain at list price.
Here's the story on this amp. I bought it as an "interim amp" while waiting on a much, much more expensive amp and was completely shocked by its performance. My previous integrated is a very highly regarded (also much more expensive) amp, and I felt the Ultralinear+ was neck and neck with that amp, and considerably better in some areas. This amp just sounds so "alive" and real, with great dynamics and layering. I put the other amp back in to compare and immediately missed the LTA sound, which just puts you in your listening chair and makes you stay there.
Another aspect of the LTA that I found difficult to believe until I tested it over and over is that it makes virtually no difference what power cord you run on it. I used cords ranging from $5K down to a hundred bucks, and the Ultralinear+ was just as stellar with one as the other, the result of David Berning's incredible design. It will reflect changes in power cords and speaker cables, but not with power cords, at least in my experience with it.
I've owned a lot of gear over the years, and I can sincerely say that this amp is one of the biggest bargains out there. It is simply stunning, with power and finesse that belies its weight and price tag. I can't think of one parameter that is lacking, unless you have very inefficient speakers and need a behemoth to drive them. Otherwise, the LTA will astonish you.
I've had it for two months and enjoyed every minute of it. I dearly wish I had a second system so I could keep it, but I have a daughter heading to college in a few months, so my second system dreams will have to wait a few years.
You can get this amazing integrated, which is barely broken in, while saving some money and avoiding any wait. I'll ship it the next day after payment is confirmed--or the same day if you pay early enough.
