« on: 4 May 2022, 09:26 pm »
Hey guys, found this site recently and looking to gain some new knowledge. I've been playing with "low end" stereos since i was a kid but now in my 40's i can actually get what i want if the wife allows lol. I dont have anything high end but liking my current setups that i can afford with 3 kids-

Home theater- Acoustic research PS series 5.1 speaker setup with a Yamaha RDX-671(7.1) also bi wired to the towers. Yamaha 5 disc, xbox one, ps2, original nintendo etc.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

I am on the other side of the Straights and can see Victoria from my home. I will flash my home's light to say hi. Look forward to some better weather for a day trip taking the ferry to Victoria to ride my bike on the Galloping Goose trail to Sooke have a late lunch at either Sickleback's or the 17 Mile House pub and head back to ferry. Beautiful place to live.

Hey George, my in-laws live down in Sooke. It’s an amazing place to relax with a pint or camp up in the Sooke pot holes. Ive been to Seattle a few times but I’m hoping to explore more of Washington this summer. Any recommendations for camping in your area? Wonderful part of the world we live.

I've lived in Seattle for 50 years. Southern BC and Washington are truly twins, so you'll mostly find variations on BCs many treasures down here.
I'll be going up to Victoria and Sooke in a couple of weeks. A great place to have in our back yard.
In the Olympics, the Hoh rainforest and Hurricane Ridge are worth a visit.
Farther inland, Mount Rainier is a must. No pictures come remotely close to seeing it close up, or better, hiking on its many great trails.
Seattle is also a near twin of Vancouver (although Vancouver is still more beautiful, imo), but it has been undergoing a huge transformation over the last 15 years. Interesting to see a boom town in full boom mode.
Many don't know that Oregon, Washington, BC and Idaho were once all known as Columbia. After Canada was established, your part became known as British Columbia. Washington and Oregon became Oregon Territory.
When Washington applied for separate statehood, they asked to be named Columbia, but a committee of Congress decided it would be confusing to have DC, BC, and Columbia and named it Washington instead.
If you're coming down this way, send me a PM, we can have lunch, listen to tunes and talk about this stuff.
Welcome!
