Life forced me to go all digital back in 2012. Since then I have gone through some 20+ DAC's. All in an effort to find the most analog DAC I can afford. I first heard about Lampizator back in 2013. I wanted to hear their DAC's, but the price kept me outta the game. Recently the price of Used Lampizator DAC's has finally gotten into my realm of possible. I happened onto this Generation 4 Level 4 with Dueland CAP upgrade. I think Lukasz Fikus must have made a deal with the devil. This DAC has an unholy amount of detail retrieval, while remaining one of the most Non-Fatiguing DAC's I have listened to. It can Play for HOURS with zero listener fatigue. Lampizator Philosophy is they want you to experience the music NOT just hear it. To that end they believe when you listen you should hear artifacts of the music all around you. (front, back, and sides). I have no idea how they have accomplished this. This is the ONLY DAC I have heard that seems to project the music in this manner. Its frankly startling at times, an unexpected voice beside, or behind you. (Chills up the spine)
When I received the DAC there was tube rush sound I replaced the tubes and it is quiet now. Thats actually quite the compliment. Those original CV3884 tubes lasted 9 years. It now has a NOS pair of Ecc40 seimans tubes on board. with a copper plate 6ax5gt rectifier made by national. I am including the original tubes also the Factory Mullard CV3884 pair and a tung sol 6x5 rectifier. They had a sweet sound except for the background rush mentioned which new tubes solved.
Selling it because, while it does everything the reviews say it will, I am simply looking for a different sound over all. The Detail retrieval is superb, The bass is deep and tight, the highs just float and shimmer. Mids are there in full force. IMHO it is a quite neutral sound quality with no one attribute sticking out above the other.
