Came here looking for info on DACs. Specifically the Shiit Yggdrasil.  Looking to improve the digital stage of my Hegel H390 as it prepares to become a certified Roon endpoint.

Is he Yggdrasil the DAC to beat at its pricepoint?

Welcome!

You'll get a wide range of opinions.  Schitt doesn't follow the latest and greatest technology trends, so kinda expensive for what you get.  I like their company style, tried a Frieya (with wonderful NOS tubes) and a Gungnir to replace a nice but cheaper preamp/DAC/DSP and no matter how I connected them couldn't make the Schitt stuff sound any better so back they went.  I see the Yggy now has 3 varieties to choose from, best sounding, best measuring, and original flavor.  Those sort of choices would drive me nuts.
