LGK for autosound
« on: 1 Mar 2022, 01:58 am »
These sound so nice. The only tuning needed, for my environment, is to reduce by 3db, starting at 1000hz and up.  I'm running these from 400hz to 20k hz. Feeding them 35 watts from a very good class a/b amp. The tweeter in the background is muted. The LGK is plenty of sparkle and sizzle for me. And the midrange is highly resolving, but sweet.  Thankfully, my system is fairly noise free, for what it is.
Thanks to Danny for amazing products.

That is sweet, did you use a prefab pod or did you create what you have pictured? I would like to get the vocals out of my doors, and have been pondering adding a full range in that location. I did not care for the tweeters in the A pillars, but that would be a cool solution.

To clarify your setup, what us up with the slopes for your crossover point at 400hz?

I bought the pods from ebay seller valicar-stuttgart.  Actually, the pods were designed for Stereo Integrity M3 3.5 midranges. So the LGK don't fit exactly but close enough.
2nd order high pass at 400hz.  Could probably go lower, maybe 300 or so, I'll try it. I don't listen loud anyway, should be fine.
