New to forum and help needed with CSD in REW
« on: 26 Feb 2022, 10:59 am »
Hi all,

I am new to this forum and if this post is inappropriate then please remove or let me know.  I have been watching Danny Richie's videos for a white and I am trying to design my own speaker.  I have been trying to recreate the CSD charts used in the videos but i dont have CLIO only REW.  Does anyone know what settings to use in REW to mimic the same chart so I can compare my design?  The image attached is not right but shows the settings.
many thanks

Simon

I was just researching this last night.
Try these settings:
Mode: Fourier
Total Slices:101
Window MS: 4.7
Time Range: 4ms
Rise Time: .6ms
Check the "Use CSD Mode" box and the "Auto Generate" box.
Also notice that his show it down to 25db below the peak, so make your bottom of the graph 25-30db below the highest peak.

Here's some more info on it:

Here's my waterfall plot from the speaker I just made.

Keep in mind that what I am posting are spectral decays of the speakers only. Measurements taken with REW are room responses. Thyose are very different.
