I must have been asleep in 1993 when Killer Bees came out, but I'm flabbergasted by this. Absolute A-list players, set loose in a fusion-oriented unstructured format, recorded incredibly well, IMO.
Who dat, you say? Flora Purim, Chick Corea, Gary Meek, Herbie Hancock, Hiram Bullock, Mark Egan, Stanley Clarke, Airto Moreira, aka "gods of jazz".
Most of these guys have long histories together, and it pays off big. It sounds like they are having fun!
I've always loved fusion at its best, and these guys are all-in on the creative groove for this.
I'm listening to it on Amazon, but I've got to get a higher rez version now.
There is a later "Revenge of Killer Bees" from 2000. Cued up next!
Love fusion and don't know this? Find it!
