Stranded or solid

I just got some wire from GR for my subs and found it was stranded whereas the NX wire was solid. I realized I have not heard Danny's thesis on when to use each type and thought I would ask.

Danny - what's your general take on when to go stranded or solid?

Stranded is fine for bass but solid core is best for mids/highs, IME.

The stranded wire is also 14 gauge, while the solid-core wire is 16 gauge.
