Empire 598 adjustment

I am working on the set up of a new to me Empire 598 TT. I can get everything doing what I want except for getting the end of the record tonearm pick up to work correctly. I have heard it is a finicky item and am seeking tweaking advice.

I had a 598 III for many, many years and gave up on trying to use the arm pickup feature. It seemed too crude to trust if you're using a decent cartridge.

Flip it out of the way or as I did, remove it forever.
