Hello all - great site! And great contributors!
About myself… as a child my father had this amazing sounding stereo system. We bonded over tunes, listening to some of his favorites - Chicago, Rush, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Tony Bennett, any type of Blues, Chuck Mangione, etc…. and me introducing him to some of mine Foo Fighters, Rage Against the Machine, Eminem, 311, Pearl Jam, Metallica, etc…. (Some which I doubt he liked lol).
These times together made for great memories. Unfortunately my father suddenly passed Jan 2021.
I inherited his stereo and as time has passed naturally age has taken its toll on the components. However my plan is to restore all to its former listening glory so I can close my eyes and recall the memories past while listening to his music or mine.
Here’s what my father had and what I plan:
Carver M-1.5t amp
Carver C-1 preamp
Carver TX-2 tuner
KEF 104/2 speakers
KEF Kube
Nakamichi CD player
Nakamichi tape player
I’ve added:
Audioengine B1 Bluetooth adapter
Need to repair:
KEF 104/2 crossover is bad. Not sure what is the best approach for addressing this. I see Falcon has a cap set. I wish I could find someone local and recommended to repair.
Nakamichi MB-4s CD player has a bad transport unit. I understand this is typical. Looking for a replacement CD player that will be on par or better, budget friendly

Plans:
At the moment all equipment is stacked in my office.
Add a nice rack for home use.
Add a PDU to power down components and protect them better
If anyone is in the St. Louis Missouri area and are familiar with crossover repairs please let me know.
Thank you and appreciate the great info I’ve already discovered!
