My system won't be any help. I use a combination of open baffle and sealed servo subs in my home theater system. The open baffle subs are configured as part of the full range (Large) left and right main speakers. The sealed servo sub is configured as the subwoofer and set up as LFE only. This way the heavy infrasonic frequencies are sent to the sealed servo sub which is solid down to 10Hz and handles all that energy better than the open baffle subs.

I have set up an HT system with just the open baffle subs but have found my current configuration to give the best performance.

I am moving soon and my two set-ups will change quite a bit.
Right now my living roon is my music room
upgraded NX-Otica + triple subs
Downstairs HT
upgraded X-Statiks, X-Voce, AV1RS, sealed servo sub.

At my new place, I will have a large space above the garage which will be a game room, HT and main music room.
The NX-Otica and triple subs will replace the X-Statiks and sealed sub in the HT-Music room.
The main living room will be more for tv watching and casual music listening. I will no longer be living alone so esthetic compromises will have to made. I wiill use the less imposing single sealed sub and possibly a pair of NX-Studios. (Visually less imposing, can be put closer to the wall than the X-Statik).

I will post pics when done.

  • Without music, life would be a mistake.
My HT uses the dual OB subs built in to my Super 7's:
