Hi. My audio journey started with a purchase of Topping DX3 Pro DAC/Amp. It wasn't a good experience for me because my portable player QLS QA360 sounded better than DX3 Pro which was surprising for me. But it was a good lesson for me. What reviewers recommend on Youtube is just advertising, they get the gear for free anyway.

I mostly listen to headphones. I live in a flat, so there's no room for speakers. I joined Audiocircle to get a better understanding of speakers, room acoustics and power amps. There is no progress in headphones unfortunately plus you have to consider the insane prices of the headphones. In the future I want to move and build a good stereo system.

My current system: Schiit Bifrost Multibit -> Jotunheim -> HD600

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Welcome!

If you think headphones are expensive, wait until you price out a good room, quality loudspeakers/subwoofers, high grade power amps, and DSP.   :o

Hi. What reviewers recommend on Youtube is just advertising, they get the gear for free anyway.
This has always been this way since the 1960s with the paper magazines.
This you mentioned is called Merchandising, which is when the advertising is disguised as independent analysis.
See this case from FM Acoustics/Swiss:
