Hello from Italy
« on: 15 Dec 2021, 02:20 pm »
Hello from a (former?) seldom lurker from the Northeastern part of Italy,
finding here interesting topics regarding room acoustics and how to handle those (possibly my next step to be improved as far as wife allows), multi sub and balanced power techniques.

My stereo system consists in a modded Brit NAS Spacedeck, a diy Emerald op amp phono stage, a diy 2xecc83 phono stage, a diy dddac + iancanada stuff/rpi streamer, graaf pre + quasi otl power amp and Pawel Acoustics monitors. Some subs with Behringer DCX2496 and an American Crown MT amp are around too for when things get going.

Stay safe all, cheers,
Matt. geoturbo

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Welcome!

Recommend reading Floyd Toole's "Sound Reproduction" (either edition).  Toole is a well respected acoustician.  His book focuses on how rooms inherently affect bass and how to deal with the huge peaks/dips in virtually every room.

I built a practical but dedicated audio room 16 years ago, well insulated, following Fibonacci ratios.
