Heya fellow audio fans!  So here I am continuing my own journey. Been a fan of audio before I knew it really.  My uncle is a radio and electronics engineer and when I was 8 years old he played "music box dancer" for me and my brother on a 45 record on what seemed like a mountain of gear to me at the time.  I was hooked and few years later broke open a clock radio to see why it wasnt working: the speaker connects broke. So I reattached the wires and hey...as long as I'm in here I'll hook up another speaker. Two has to be better than 1 right? So I took a 4 inch driver from some broken speaker my dad had around and put it in. Then another...and another...and another.  I put it all into a suicase and drug out the drivers when we'd open it and listen. Id find another driver somewere and change em out or add another one... Ended up with 9 drivers in that suitcase running off a clock radio power supply!  How the heck it took that kind of resistance and kept working I'll never know!
Fast forward decades and ended up working as a network administraor at AudioVisions in 2001. (high end integrator outfit in Irvine, Ca.) and bought some gear from the stock. First real speakers were the B&W 301 s2. Tried a few different amps from NAD to Denon, Marantz, etc.
That NAD 3020 is still nostalgic to me.   In around 2008 I went the DIY route and built a Zaph Audio MTM aluminum kit.  Sounded better than the B&Ws!
Finally with a few bucks and the kids all grown, I'm back!  Currently working on the cabinets for the X-LS Encore and the open baffle 2 servo subs.  Chomping at the bit for the plate amps to come in!
Nice to be here and look forward to groovy times.  8)
Cheers!
