Shipping CDs Packing Recommendations
« on: 21 Nov 2021, 06:33 pm »
I'm about to inherit (pick up) my elderly mother's classical music CD collection, as she doesn't have the capability to use them anymore. I need to ship them from the Northwest to the Southwest part of the Country.

How should I pack them to prevent damage to the cases and CDs?

I'm thinking of shipping several boxes by USPS. After the boxes are delivered, I'll be ripping Redbook CDs in my spare time, while working/wasting time on my desktop computer.

Thanks for sharing your previously successful packing methods!

Wrap them in bubble wrap (taped to restrict movement), cardboard box, send USPS Media Mail. You shouldn't feel any movement or shifting of contents when completed. Media Mail is reduced expense, and provides tracking at no extra charge. You do allow (give permission) for them (PO) to open & check if there's a question of contents, but have used this method for years w/o issue, damage, or loss of anything. Package arrives early more often that not. ymmv

Enjoy the new tunes.  :thumb:

Thanks,

I had been thinking of using urethane foam sheets, but bubble wrap does seem like a good idea!
