For Sale is an outstanding little SET amplifier from Dennis Had of Cary Audio fame.  Dennis built this amp in August of 2015 and I purchased it from the original owner.  From a tube-rolling standpoint, this is the most versatile amplifier that I have owned – you can run KT88, KT77, KT66, EL34, 6SL6, 6V6, 5881, and more.  In the driver position, it will use 6N1P, 6922, 6DJ8, ECC88 and like tubes.  Rectifiers can be 5U4G, 80, 5Y3, 274A, 5AR4.  The amp is auto biasing so it is truly plug & play. I purchased the amp in June of this year and am selling because I’ve just upgraded to the newest Dennis Had KT88 SEP.  I will include the tubes that came with the amp – pair of low-usage Genelex Gold Lion KT88, (4) 6N1Ps, a Westinghouse 5AR4, a Sophia 274A, and an RCA Cunningham 80 rectifier.  Also included is a 4 pin to octal adapter for 274A/80 to 5Y3/5AR4 rectifiers.  A sheet detailing power output with various output tubes and recommended rectifier is included.

The amp is an excellent performing SET amp and is in outstanding cosmetic condition.

I prefer local pickup(Dallas-Ft Worth), but will ship at buyers expense within CONUS.  I would be interested in a trade for a 45/2A3 SET amp.  I accept payment by Paypal.

There isn't a great deal of sonic difference, some but it's subtle.  The new amp uses 6SN7 driver rather than the 6922 of this amp and I have a number of quality 6SN7s -- The new amp is also a match for my Dennis Had LP-2030 preamp/linestage.  Both amps sound excellent.

I own 3 Dennis Had Inspire amps.   This is a fantastic deal for someone to get a very high quality SE amp for the price of an import.  If this is enough power for your speakers, then the sound quality is better than many $3000-$4000 amps.  If I didn't already have 3, I'd jump on this one.

Hi. How does this compare to the Fire Bottle KT88? How much power? Thank you.
