X-Statik Video

Danny,

A couple videos ago you said you were planning to do a series on the X-Statik.   I have my enclosures about 80% complete and am waiting on my kit which is delayed due to the tube-connector delay.   It would be super helpful to get som tips from you video so I am ready to go when the parts get here.   I am most interested in any tips on how you physically arrange the crossover parts on the board.   I have already completed a pair of encores which turned out amazing and can’t wait to hear these now.

Here is how I designed my crossovers vs the stock AV123 boards.

I spread them throughout the cabinet so I could help space them out from one another

Thanks.  Probably a good option

I just finished a set last week. Another member on here helped me out. Here is what mine looked like.

I like the idea of running them all in separate circuits now that I have finished it. I will never be able to get mine out of the cabinet without destroying it.

Great thread.

Here's what I built - I'm busy veneering the cabinets, so not had a final fit yet:

and a 'rare' side view showing my 'awesome' soldering skills:

The XO board is : 9.5' x 6'  (24.5cm x 15cm) with a cap overhanging.

It fits in the base reasonably well, after No-rez installed.

I was able to create a 'triple point' for driver wiring return, to minimize the number of wiring splices required.  Its a tough build, with not a lot of space and a very congested board.

Hobs solution and end result is beautiful.

I am so happy I asked.  I was leaning towards trying to fit on one board, and now I feel differently. Thanks for all the input

Sorry I didn't take any picture when I built my crossover but I put the bass and midrange on one board mounted on the bottom and the tweeter on a separate board mounted on the side, I felt it was too crowded with everything on one board mounted on the base of the speaker. By the way you are going to be very impressed with the sound of these speaker by far the best I've ever heard, I built the X-static and the X-voce and I can finally hear the dialogue clearly in movies and yes music is phenomenal also but you really need a hi def streaming service to see the full potential unless you have a large CD collection or vinyl. Personally I really can't hear a difference with above CD quality, but I am old and my hearing isn't what it was.
