I'm going to try a low powered, tube setup for now. If I realize I don't like it I'd go back to owning these. They are heavy but I have all original packing material, grills, manuals, CD and anything else they come with.  Local pickup for now. I'm in the Allentown/Bethlehem/Easton, PA area right on the Jersey border.  Serious buyers are welcome to come listen. I have an Ayre KX-R/AX-5 setup at the moment. It's as good as anything I've heard that's not astronomically expensive. There are no nicks/chips anywhere. I have tried to take a picture of the only blemish which is from a piece of packing tape sticking to them. You can only sort of see it from a certain angle in a certain light. I'd rate them 8/10 due to that. Asking $4100 (NOW SOLD) for local pickup. Thanks and please ask questions!

What do you mean by wrong title? Jim has called them the Encore 9.5 due to using the midrange from the 9.5 rather than the “normal” Encore midrange.

They are not SS 9.5, so folks may be misled thinking they are SS series. When you see the square enclosure, right away it hits you, but Jim has been known to make squared enclosures for customers who request them.

Hi,

Its a pity you want to sell them as Jim's speakers sound fabulous and are awesome value. I'd keep them and go for a higher powered amplifier as the price your selling them for is a bargain.

I already have a pair of HT3's which I really like.  Good luck with the sale.

Thanks, Rod.  I don't disagree.  My son just said he liked them better than the double the cost speakers I already bought. He wants me to give them to him to replace his old Vandersteen 1's.
