This is the pair of Mogami speaker cables I made up for my shootout here:

The details are in the article, but these are Mogami's top line 4x12 ga. "Neglex" copper professional speaker cables, configured in a cross wired configuration as recommended fo lowest industance and noise rejection. 9 guage!
They are excellent sounding, with the deepest, most powerful bass transmission I've ever heard, lifelike instrumental body, very good spatial rendering and separation. Easy to see why so many studios use them.
These are an easy choice for lean or hot sounding systems. The body in the lowest half of the range is really marvelous to listen to. The top end has all the detail and extension in the recordings, but sounds slightly recessed, which is a blessing for hot systems but not for already dull systems.
You can buy these already made up for about $350/pr., or DIY and pay about $165 for the parts as I did and build them yourself, or pay $140 and I'll ship you mine by USPS Priority Mail (typically 2-3 days).
This pair has rhodium plated copper spades on one end and rhodium plated bananas on the other, which I felt offered better balance compared to pure copper or gold plated copper connectors.
These are about 3 months old and have about 200 hours on them.
They can easily be used as a biwire cable by separating the wires at the connectors on one end and adding another pair of connectors, on each cable.
I've decided to use the Furez pro cables, which are thinner sounding and with less bass (a negative for me), but have more top end energy (a plus in my system). I find both to be excellent and similar in many ways, but with a different tonality. My 72 year old ears are losing some top end as well, and so a little extra on top suits me better. Younger ears might well prefer the Mogami.
Thanks for having a look.
