Hi, All
This forum is the best resource ever for getting the most out your audio system. Asking a few questions and taking everyone's advice I was able to easily solve the following problems that bothered me about the sound I used to get:
Image is rock stable
Frequency response is uniform
Soundstage is the correct size
Instrument locations go from below the floor to 3ft. above ear level.
All of the room modes are tamed
I can sit anywhere I want to in the room
Musical timbre is as good as the recording allows
I listen for hours without listening fatigue
No more forced citical listening, just pure enjoyment
I sometimes hear funny (non-musical) noises that seem to be in the room and realize it's the stereo
Some of the lowest frequency bass sounds as if it's coming from the house next door ( one of the speakers rattles sometimes, It may be the screen that covers the tweeter)
Recordings sound more different from each other than they ever did
I can't listen to a lot of music I like because now it sounds like shit. You can't have everything, I guess
I was getting close to giving up on this “optimizing” stuff on my own. What a happy turn of events in such a short time.
Kudos to everyone.
