Greetings

Hello All,
My Audio journey began in the mid 70's when my Mom took me to Pacific Stereo. We came home with a Concept 2.5 receiver, Quadraflex speakers, and a Technics turntable. My Mom introduced me to Cat Stevens, Carole King, Roberta Flack, Jim Croce, Neil Diamond, James Taylor, and others, as well as some Classical music. In Sacramento in those days we has KZAP with the likes of Kevin "Boom Boom" Anderson who introduced me to Rock and Roll! I Loved it all.
By todays standards that system wouldn't be highly regarded, but it never ceased to amaze me with its impact and clarity. I got my first Walkman in the late 70's in middle school. I would listen mostly to Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, or the Doors riding the bus to and from school. This really wove music into the fabric of my life.
After many different setups over the years I now have Gallo 3.5's, SA Amplifier, Parasound A21, ARC LS-17, Technics SL-1200 with AT 33SA, Nakamichi BX-300, SMSL SU-8, and a Cambridge 651p which I am trying to upgrade with a Musical Fidelity MX-VYNL.
I also have a 9.1 HT setup with JBL LS, HSU VTF-15H, Epson 5040, DreamScreen V5, Marantz 7702 mkII, Oppo UDP 203, Parasound 2205A, and HK AVR 7200. I mostly run it in 5.1 unless it is Atmos or DTS-X.
I have around 4500 lp's and 12" singles, plus a few 10" and 45's. I have hundreds of tapes and hundreds of FLAC downloads.
I have been biased towards analog until very recently. I have been astounded at the abilities of my modest DAC and I will certainly be exploring better ones in the near future. I am very interested in Border Patrol, and Denafrips.

I look forward to discussing my journey and learning from all of your experience on the forums.

Best regards,
Tim

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.
