I happened upon Dr. Lonnie Smith and his recent collaboration with Iggy Pop on Qobuz, Sunshine Superman in particular. Check it out, good stuff.

Thanks for posting this. I didn't know. Big loss. I found him in the last year or so through Roon. I love his style. Lou Donaldson's Alligator Bogaloo has been one of my favorites for a long time. The NPR article on his death mentions the album. I didn't even realize he was playing on it. The collab with Iggy Pop that Sebrof mentions above on "Breathe" is fantastic. Take a listen to Paper Tiger on Boogaloo to Beck from 2003. Well recorded and a great listen.
