After all the blood, sweat and measurements, my Tripath Sonic amp is now living in a cool little chassis.  Sounds great, looks cool too.
And I'm building a few more.

Nice to have a cool package to wrap the great sonics up in.

There are more photos over on my site.  Check it out.  I'm proud.

Very cool looking.  It has a bit of a retro feel to it.

Hmm.... Funny you should say that, as I know the guys who did the sets on that film. One never knows where influences will come from.

Looks great.  Great price.  I presume at that price the 2024 boards are stock with no mods, right?

Reminds me of the "aliens" that come back to earth, for the 5th Element...

Really cool enclosure, very imaginative!

Oh no.  Plenty of mods, that's what makes the amp sing. Stock it's a little flat.  :)

The input circuit has been redone with a Nobel pot, Panasonic ploypro caps (off board, they're large), better resistors, larger Panasonic FM cap on the PS rail, toroidal inductors on the output, good quality output caps, RF management, rerouted onboard signal and power. To mention a few.
Also comes with a big regulated PSU, no batteries needed.

I did not like the sound of the stock Sonic Impact unit, couldn't understand what all the fuss was about.  Modified, it's a wonderful amp.  Amazing, really.

"Fifth Element" = Luc Besson, i.e. more French leaning Sci-Fi! They seem to have a penchant for the retro, Jules Verne style props. (Wasn't he French too?)
