Sold to a new happy home!
End of an era for me.

I'm finally doing it.  :o  I thought I would keep these for life, but retirement and condo living has changed things and I'm drastically simplifying.  For the right person, this package is a dream.  Once and done.  Preamp, amp, lots of tubes, Herbies tube dampers, socket savers, interconnects for preamp to amp, and ceramic art!  See photos for everything and linked pdf for tubes and accessories included.

I obsessively tried more tube combinations than I care to count!  From expensive vintage to premium current production.  I settled on my favorites and am including enough backups for this combination to last many years.  I am also including a variety of other tube types to sample including some highly regarded varieties.

To obtain everything included today, it would cost over $5100.  That's $2000 for the amp, $1300 for the preamp, and $1850 for the tubes and accessories included.  I will sell the whole shootin' match for $2500 plus shipping.  I'll pick up paypal fees.  I have them available for demo and/or pickup in Bellingham WA.  Shipping is three boxes:  LP-2 (16" x 13" x 12", 7 lbs), KT150 (16" x 13" x 12", 19 lbs), and Tubes, etc. (16" x 13" x 11", 9 lbs).

Sorry, I'm not willing to break up the set at this stage.

Please open this pdf for a list and details of tubes and accessories.

Preamplifier - Inspire LP-2 hand built by Dennis in 2014.  One of a kind color he did for me: Jaguar Carnival Red.  That is the same paint he used on some Cary amps.  Three inputs, two outputs.  It has $300 upgrade for a DACT stepped attenuator.  Custom metal knobs.

Amplifier - Inspire KT-150 single ended pentode in the same Jaguar Carnival Red.  Will output between 5 and 12 wpc depending on tubes chosen.  You can run any of dozens of power tubes and signal tubes.  Sent back to Dennis in 2016 and had $350 upgrade, which included:
** New Infinite Impedance Power Supply circuit (the reason the rectifier tube type is less important)
** Dual auto bias supply (no biasing required - even unmatched tubes will run with correct bias and preserve imaging)
** New Jantzen silver coupling caps

Condition is excellent.  The only flaw is a small bare spot where paint came off of a corner of one of the transformers.  I hadn't noticed it until I took photos.  It is on the back side. Sound is beyond excellent!

I started the years long original thread on Audio Aficionado in 2013.  They now have a section for his work: https://www.audioaficionado.org/forumdisplay.php?f=184

I would love to demo them if you are interested in buying them and in the Northwest Washington area.

I'm happy to answer any questions as best as I can.

Here are photos.  The first one is with the tubes I settled on for the best sound to my ears (see the pdf for all the details).  The others have some different tubes.

Photo of the paint flaw.  Left corner of right transformer (from the angle you are viewing it)

I will include this (ahem) inspired artwork to show off.  It was done by a professional ceramic artist friend.

 :D

Since I'm getting out of tubes completely, it's a complete "starter kit"!

BTW, for anyone that already viewed, just added photo of accessories and the paint flaw.  Forgot those the first time.

GLWS.  I have chatted with you in that huge Inspire thread.

I too have recently retired and moved into a condo.   But I decided to keep my Inspires and get rid of the other gear.

Awesome colors and very nice inclusion of accessories for a great all in one, play for a long time, damned great bang for your buck set-up! I’m trying to justify this, would you mind telling us which speakers you used most often with this amp?

Thank you!

I've been running Omega Super Alnico HO monitors.  A very good match.  Best to stay above 90db sensitivity.

It's a great deal if you haven't yet invested in tubes given you won't be needing to start spending on tubes, at least not right away, and not unless you want to go on the search to try everything, etc.

Thanks!  Lot's of interest, but no commitments yet.
