Hello to fellow AC members.

I'm a looong-time audiophile (meaning I'm an old guy!). I started out with a single Altec 604C, a Bogen tube integrated amp,  and a Rek-O-Kut TT after serving in the USAF and starting college. This was a mono system, before stereo, in early 1960. I've come full circle. After many years of using excellent contemporary gear, I landed a pair of Altec 604E Super Duplex speakers in non-Altec enclosures.

My reason for joining the AC group is to meet other Altec enthusiasts. Specifically, I am planning to replace my crossovers. My OEM N-1500A networks are in excellent condition and seem to work properly, but, being an audiophile, I believe improvements can be made.

If anyone in this group shares my interest in this topic, please point me to the appropriate Circle.

Many thanks!

Welcome.  I just moved from south Jersey a couple years ago and was just there visiting friends.  Capitol Audio Fest (CAF) is coming up soon and many members of the Mid Atlantic Audio Circle attend.  Gary Gill puts on an excellent show and there's a great diy group down there that might be of assistance on your project, they usually have a display room.

Thanks all for the welcoming messages! Nice to know there are other audiophiles here in southern NJ.

I remember when audio gear could be bought in Camden no less - two stores. One was RESCO (Radio Electric Service Co., a Bozak dealer). Musical instruments too (Klayman's Music Store). Later, Cherry Hill had at least three stores with a big one in the Mall. Also, one in Deptford, and a small one (briefly) in Pitman.

My group patronizes Overture, in Wilmington, DE these days, the only store fairly close to this area.

Best, Fred

Some folks in the group patronize Overture.

Others don't.
