Welcome!

My system consist of:

Commissioned loudspeakers - Bob Brines FTA-2000, floor standing transmission line using a single driver (the "mighty" Fostex F200a) that I had Bud Purvine (inventor) provide EnABL treatments and thanks to Duke LeJeune added ambience "Late Ceiling Splash" tweeters that sit on the floor directly behind the cabinets aimed straight up.  They create a very musical, accurate sound.

Listening room - 8ft x 13ft x 21ft (Fibonacci ratios to reduce echo), size limited by available ceiling height, basement location so no window or wooden floor, well insulated including door and ductwork, midfield setup so loudspeakers and listener are away from walls, room is my man cave (audio in front and office in the back).  Provides a quiet room that allows me to listen whenever I want.

Streamer/DAC - Channel Island Audio DMC-1, a compact purist product that sounds wonderful.

Power amp - Temple Audio mono-blocks with Supercharger power supplies, dynamic/powerful/clear sound.

Subwoofers - three to tame inherent in-room bass peaks/dips.

Treatments - ten GIK 244 panels, minimally effective after room shape and subwoofers, but highly effective in other spaces.

Welcome to the AC!

And since you asked;

My system:
Streamer & preamp:        Logitech Transporter
DSP Crossover:        DBX Driverack Venu 360
Power Amps (3):        Vintage Carver TFM-25’s
Speakers:                DIY hybrid ESL’s
Subs (2):                 DIY Ripoles

What I like about my setup:

The Logitech Transporter and Squeezebox Touch have been out of production for a decade, but to my knowledge no other streamers ever made have volume-controlled digital outs, thus, can also serve as digital preamps.   On other streamers; the digital outs are merely pass-thru.

The signal path is digital from the Transporter into the DBX crossover, and then a single D/C conversion out to the amps.  The sound quality is amazing.  That’s why I will NEVER part with my Transporter.

The DBX Venu 360 is awesome—it’s Ipad interface is intuitive and easy.  I can adjust crossover frequencies, slopes, parametric and graphic EQ’s, delays, limiters, etc… all in real time, from my listening spot on the sofa.  And it’s auto-eq features are easy and fast and make tuning a breeze.

The vintage Carver TFM-25’s are class G push/pull SS stereo amps with 225W/channel, completely refurbished and they  have a sweet sound.

What I love most are my homebuilt ESL speakers—a state of the art design which evolved over thirteen years building ESL’s.  The panels use symmetrically segmented wire stators which electronically bend the wave-front from planar to cylindrical; giving a wide and smooth trending polar response.  I would not trade them for any other speakers I’ve every heard.  The homebuilt Ripole subs are nice too-- very clean, unobtrusive and their dipole radiation pattern blends well with the ESLs.

What I don’t like:

The Logitech software (Media Player) doesn’t always play nice with Tidal streaming—occasionally; a playlist refuses to play, and I end up deleting and re-adding it—not a deal-breaker but certainly inconvenient when it happens.

This is an older photo which does not show the DBX Venu 360:
