Hi,
This is Mike and this is my introduction. I joined a while back. My journey started in the early 90's after being wowed by a hi-end store in Atlanta.
However, I never threw enough money into the hobby until many years later. And it took that time for my ear to develop and recognize quality sounds and what the potential is.
In the beginning, like many, I used "logic" too much instead of my ears.
Now I am the biggest fan of high-end interconnects and power cables, and well past the skeptic mode.
I spent a lot of time tube rolling with vintage tubes and am a huge fan of the good ones. My largest purchase ever was an Allnic phono preamp that was incredibly affected by the rectifier tube. Really amazing.
Eventually discovered vintage direct drive turntables.
Got some good sounds with hi-res audio streaming, still having a local source is best. But it really opens up listening in a big way.
Also a musician. Love vintage fender tube amps. On my wish list are some Chimera Labs interconnects that I might use for wiring/guitar cable.
Lately have a solid state amp for the tv/streaming and using easy-to-listen-to speakers.
