T+A G 2000R Turntable with T+A Phono Stage
« on: 17 Jul 2021, 07:18 pm »
These do not come up for sale very often: T+A G2000R with built-in extremely sophisticated MM/MC phono stage, T+A tonearm (an improved variant of the Clearaudio Satisfy MC), and an Ortofon MC Quintet Black S with about 500 hours.

Also includes plexiglas cover, record weight and horsehair record cleaning brush. A screaming deal for a complete TT system built on high-end German perfectionist engineering that creates a superbly precise and elegant vinyl playback solution – it's as though Audi completely rethought the Linn LP12.

Retail is $10,000. Asking $4850.

Turntable itself is about 2 years old; rating 8/10 conservatively. Flawless operation and no notable scuffs or scratches. I am the original owner. Paypal fee included. I am a longtime member of USAudiomart and Audiogon (username: transience on both) with extensive 100% feedback throughout and take pride in providing transparent, dependable service to fellow hifi enthusiasts and music lovers.

To avoid shipping a turntable, local pickup or delivery within 1 hour of NYC is available and preferred.

UNIVERSAL RAVE REVIEWS
"This spaciousness added a superb concert-hall feel to classical material in particular.... Arguably, T+A’s well-engineered drive setup and intelligent motor control system made its presence most keenly felt at the low end of
the spectrum. In short, its exemplary bass performance ensured the lowest bass notes were handled with confidence and weight – kick drums had gloriously solid impact and precise timing.

"If you are really serious about uniform design, you will automatically end up with the G 2000 R. The often underrated turntable sounds and works just as well as it optically fits into the R series: seamless and great.
Do the components of the R series from T + A have what it takes to be the ideal system? Absolutely! On the heels of their big siblings in terms of sound, the PA 2500 R, MP 2000 R and G 2000 R easily play at eye level with most expensive high-end components, but save the owner their usual sensitivities. They just run. Finally peace for music."
— FIDELITY at https://www.ta-hifi.de/wp-content/uploads/tua_r2000_f26_web.pdf

"The sound of the Herford team is no surprise, because it is extremely elegant and accurate. While the turntable, as an exquisite source, provides the musical nibbles and thereby proves its high class in bringing the finest details out of the depths of the grooves, the potent PA 2500 R integrated amplifier serves as a kind of instantaneous water heater. He prepares the music and enriches it profitably with incredible power and authority."
– STEREO Magazine

"Absolutely smooth-running, bass-proof, with a large soundstage and surprisingly powerful playing, the G 2000 R proves to be a wolf in aluminum sheepskin. In terms of tonearm, there is no need for an update."
— STEREOPLAY at https://www.ta-hifi.de/wp-content/uploads/stereoplay_06_15_g2000r.pdf

"When it comes to electronics, no questions remain unanswered. With the MP 2000 R multiplayer and the PA 2000 R amplifier from T + A, you have a factually designed duo that is simply fantastic in terms of sound, has many functions and is extremely comfortable. The G 2000 R record player complements both perfectly."
– IMAGE HIFI at https://www.ta-hifi.de/wp-content/uploads/stereoplay_06_15_g2000r.pdf

"Comfort factor, the overall concept of the G 2000 R meets all expectations, its sound impresses with its volume and pressure, overall it ensures warm, conciliatory audio with a feel-good factor."

Yes, it’s a breathtakingly refined piece of engineering; I have been so proud to get it to own this. Given a recent move to a much larger space, I decided to accommodate a much bigger set up - a top line TW Acustic table and Tron phono for about 5x this price. I have a smidge of regret as the T+A holds up!

And, yep, original box and manual included. It’s a winner.

Lowering the price to 5250 to make life easier. It one could separate the cost of the table, arm, phono, and cart, this is a blazing hot value.

Just gorgeous. Linn is using a version of the Satisfy, so your TT is in good company. GLWS

Good looking table. Does T+A manf. this table themselves or an oem like Clearaudio produce it for them?

It is a beauty, indeed. While the arm is a refined variant of the Clearaudio Satisfy Carbon, it looks like T+A really does build the table fully in-house. AC motor and perfectionist control system in place of any Clearaudio DC variants and the machining is on a whole other far more elevated level throughout. Nothing against Clearaudio but this is something else.

I should also mention that the built-in phono stage designed by T+A is wholly exceptional – with naturalism, dynamic prowess, and tone to die for, rivaling the best standalone units I've had from Sutherland, Tron, PASS Labs, Musical Fidelity, EAT, and others.
