Hello to existing members!
I'm looking forward to my new build of the GR-Research NX STUDIO'S. I do have a question for PeterJ, if he would be gracious enough to assist.
Seeking some assistance in the layout approach he used with building his speaker grills one of his NX STUDIO builds. For example the size of frame, Wood or plastic or metal frames he may have used? I already have the grill cloth selected. I'm still debating rather to go with magnets, or grill fastener clips to secure the grills. Just a thought have you or Jay considered supplying as a option for the NX kit a speaker grill frame and fasteners? (Obviously grill cloth is of their own personal choice.
Based on what photo examples I've seen thus far, I'm trying to determine if to veneer the front face or just paint it black. I've purchased some beautiful Honduras Rosewood veneer, to do the sides back and bottom. Thanks to Danny, I decided to upgrade to the foil inductors. So this will be a interesting build.
I have no doubt I'll have more questions to ask, as I progress into the build project. Anyways, I look forward to getting further acquainted, with the members, I've been reading about within this forum. I'm really glad I came across Danny's products online. Danny you inspired me so much so, I sold my Vandersteen 2CE Signatures and decided move in this direction of a smaller monitor, and have more flexibility of utilizing his open baffle subs at a later build date in the future.
As a drummer, music and anything associated with it, is my passion. Danny you still have me laughing at your response to my question. I asked, what can I expect, between the change between my ole Vandersteens and the NX STUDIO MONITORS. He said, the difference will be sort of like comparing a 70' ford pick truck to a new corvette!
Cheers to all!
