No Longer available

I have a pair of Welborne Star Chief 45 Mono Blocks (2 WPC) for sale. Plenty of info / reviews online so I wont prattle on about the sound here. Suffice to say they are 100% functional, they sound great. Will come with 1 pair of Sylvanis ST shape 45's and 1 pair of russian 6n1p (6922 equivalent) drivers, (Tubes sound fine and have approx 300 hours use, I have no way to test them).  SS rectified and Auto Bias.  The wood has a few minor marks.  Amps Present very well, easily an 8 on the 10 scale for condition, and a 10 on the scale for operation.  Price is 1700.00 OBO Plus shipping and fees if any...............Sorry not interested in trades at the moment

I've owned a pair of similar Welborne 45 amps for the past 10 years and they are sublime.  While they currently sit in storage until I have the proper space to show them off again, I dont think I'll ever get rid of my pair.  With the right high efficiency speakers, they convey magic.  Best of luck with the sale.  Someone is going to be very happy!

I Honestly had no intentions of selling but I ended up with a 45 that has built in volume control, which works best on my Bi-Amp speakers it allows for much easier level matching between the bass and mid/highs

Thanks for the Kind words

Joe is a great person to deal with and I have several times in the past had great transactions with him. He's a stand up honest person and everything arrives packaged very very well.

I'll go one better.  I owned these very amps right before Joe bought them back from me (I decided I wanted a little more power, so I bought his QS horn monoblocks).  They are fantastic amps and are in great condition.  And Joe is great to do business with (we've done several tranactions and they have all been great).  Hell, I'm tempted to buy them back myself!

Thanks for all the Kind words guys, I work hard to pack stuff the way I would want to receive it. Its not worth the few $$$ one might get to me if it meant a lower point of integrity.

I considered selling the Star Chiefs as I had a Dennis Had Inspire come my way with built in Volume. Comparison has shown I prefer the Welbornes with there higher overall gain.

I will be Keeping the Welbornes as it stands now,  and letting the Had Inspire Fire Bottle 45 go instead, Actually hoping to trade the inspire for a PP amp or monos for another set of speakers I want to play with

Welbornes are no longer available

again Thanks for all the support

Hey!

Dang! I was thinking hard about this since I first saw your listing. But I can say that you've made the right decision of keeping them, I totally understand.

Anyway, my Welborne Apollo monoblocks will turn 22 years old this December. I'm the original owner and built them from kit. Like my Apollos yours also Electra-Print output transformers I believe... great transformers.

Well, if you ever decide to let them go again I might be interested in them to add them to my SET amps line up... would love to have the Welborne 300B DRD though.
