He's backed by an orchestra AND a choir.  This, IMO, is his best performance since his "Live in Australia" show.  These renditions of the old masters are fantastic.  I didn't think Elton had a good show left in him... GLAD I was wrong!!!

One of my TA's watched his show live in Vegas a few weeks ago and said it was worth every penny of the $100+ tickets.

When and where was this recorded?
I recently picked up his 4-DVD set and watched the 2000 Madison Sqr. Garden concert (Greatest Hits-One night only) and the 2002 London Royal Opera House concert.  the 2002 was with London's Royal Academy of Music Orchestra and Choir (which is where he went) and had full Orchestra and Choir.

The MSG concert had many guest appearances for one song.  I wish Billy Joel would have played more.

So far they have both been great.  I have the Ephesus concert from 2001 to go and a DVD of concerts from 1969-2004.
