wall mounts for the 626R and dipole ribbons
« on: 17 Mar 2005, 02:14 pm »
Can anyone point me in the right direction for some good quality wall mounts for the 626 ribbons that have the recommended 4" clearance in the back? Am looking for something that will not violate the speaker cabinet, will easily hold the weight, is tiltable, and has a safety strap. For the dipole ribbons, am looking for a wall mount with the same features except would like to hang the speakers flush on the wall. Would appreciate any help.

I used some B-tech wall mounting brackets for my side surround 626R's

http://www.btech-usa.com/

Looking at the website, I don't see the model number of the ones I have though.

I think it is the model "60".

I will look when I get home.

One of the things that had kept me from buying the dipole surrounds is the complete lack of information about mounting issues. There's nothing on the VMPS website (no big surprise there  ) and the picture of the speaker on this site doesn't show the back. Unlike every other product VMPS makes dipole surrounds should be wall mounted. Is there anything on the back to accomodate this? Can it even be done or do the binding posts stick out too far? Is there a channel cut for the wires? Inquiring minds (and potential customers) want to know.

MCM carries brackets that work well for the 626 and Dipole Surround.  The brackets swivel and tilt.  As for the Dipole Surround, they have woofers and tweeters front and back, connections are on the side of the cabinet (which should face the wall).  Very uncomplicated.

Mount side and rear speakers above listening height and either beside or behind the listening position.  Experiment for best results; you don't want the rear speakers to be localized as sound sources.

For the Ribbon surrounds I just hung it like a picture with picture wire and toggles that it came with. Get the ones that hold over 50lbs. My speakers are flat against the wall with no problems of movement and sound great.
