Rarely up for sale is a like-new, custom-made pair of Daedalus Zeus speakers. Their sound is, in a word, sublime. The cabinets feature baked maple and western walnut with intricate inlay and are the culmination of the finest woodworking in the industry. Upon sale, these speakers will be hand-delivered to Lou Hinkley of Daedalus and, at my cost, inspected and if necessary, brought back to new specifications, including
upgrading to the newly released 2021 4.5" midrange drivers! The finish will be polished at the factory and then the speakers shipped from there to the new owner.
These speakers perform well in rooms 16’ x 14’ x 9’ to greater than 30’ x 30’ x 27’. They are highly sensitive and in my room of roughly the latter mentioned dimensions, have played all kinds of music to live performance levels without any diminishment of SQ - with as little as 7.5 SET, PX25 tube watts. Each Zeus breaks down into two parts and a pair is easily moved about by two people. Each speaker and base are specific to each other and to their intended channel.

We’re selling because, in the process of relocating to a new-build home in the countryside, my wife decided she wanted speakers more reflective than the ones for sale here of the modern Japanese - Scandinavian interior/exterior theme we chose for the new house. During the joint endeavor of looking for new speakers, she was unable to find any as emotionally engaging as the Daedalus. Consequently, we provided Lou with a description of what she is after, and he graciously agreed to work with us and design and build speakers that will work well with our new home.
